New Year New Problems

My TiVo is dying. It is sticking, freezing, and not recording. It is only 3 years old but from what I understand that is when the hard drive starts to fail. Replacing the drive cost $119 getting a new TiVo is $90, my choice is simple.

It recorded 7 hours of shows a day for over 1000 days, more during sweeps. The software is running fine and I guess maybe one day I'll try a self-installation to see if I have any computer skills.

Apparently TiVos have a 5 year time limit. If I buy a new one I'll let y'all know which one I chose. So 80-hours or 180-hours?

Back to TV I've been watching the Friday Night Lights marathon on Bravo it's a good show well made, well acted. No other shows are on this week so might as well start something new.

Happy New Year

Life After Tomorrow

Just saw the Annie documentary following up on various girls who played in the musical Annie.
Sarah Jessica Parker(Sex and the City), Allison Smith(Kate and Allie), Martha Byrne(As the World Turns), and Danielle Brisebois(All in the Family) are among the featured talkers.
Noticeably missing is Alyssa Milano and Molly Ringwald the most famous Annie alums. The most outrageous involve Ana Lovelis making this show not suitable for kids.

Most of the ladies have left the acting business and are doing ok. It was nice to see so many familiar faces from the seventies and eighties are doing fine. Only one religious nut among them.

Showtime will be airing the documentary 1,000 more times.

Merry Christmas...Eve

Surprisingly few Christmas shows to talk about. Although they will have the Yule Log this year in HD, it's a NYC tradition.

  • I saw the Doctor Who season finale with the departure of Rose and it was very sad.
  • Tivo has been recording The Shield and now I'm addicted.
  • King of Queens is getting canceled.
  • The Jets are doing better then the Giants.

Quote of the week: "I'm mean a full on Sydney Bristow kick." said a very pregnant Nicole Varzi on What About Brian when describing her baby's kick. (For those of you unaware JJ Abrams who made Alias also does this show.)

Merry Everything

I'm done with college for the next month so let's see what I missed.

First,

Mike Evans, original Lionel Jefferson, dead

He was 57 and died of throat cancer, he left Hollywood and became a successful real estate investor. Personally I thought he was one of the funniest actors of the 70s.

Past the sadness I'm home know and there is nothing on the Tube to watch. Everything is on break and the new shows haven't started. That and problems with UPS delivering packages has delayed my festive/birthday celebrations. Oh well I'll celebrate December 28 that's a holiday somewhere right?

Best show on now Big Day.

Ok now back to shopping and shipping.

One Left

One more final and I'm done for the semester and can finally get back to my sweet sweet TV.

Oh crap I have to do some shopping.

Heroes: Fallout

Eden shot herself to stop Sylar,
the Haitian guy talked and didn't erase the cheerleader's memory
but most of all
Peter is da' bomb.
By the way people keep saying this show is a Lost ripoff but I strongly disagree.
This is a Surface ripoff, even down to the episode/chapter numbers.
But mostly it is a Surface ripoff because they are not bringing the cast together until the end.

Yeah, More Sitcoms

Big Day: Pilot
The best 24 rip-off since 24 first aired. This show is a comedy that takes place in more or less real time, starting at 8am the morning of a wedding. Alice played by the still hot Marla Sokoloff, is getting married to Danny played by Josh Cooke, formerly of Committed and Four Kings.

Wendie Malick is the mom and the best part of the show, another great character is the ex-boyfriend. Apparently everything that can go wrong in a wedding will go wrong. The best man is now legally blind after a one night stand with the brides sister who drank his contacts. One of the groomsman is in love with the groom and the father hates his soon-to-be son-in-law.

Stephnie Weir of MadTV fame plays the wedding planner who tries to referee the mom and Alice.

While I say never judge a show by it's pilot I still have hope this one will stay funny. Too bad it's on a terrible time Tuesdays at 9pm ET on ABC.

I Feel Nauseous, Quick To The Hospitals

IMG_3272
House: Whac-A-Mole
A kid comes in with vomit and two kids and leaves with the vomit. A teenager is raising his brother and sister because their parents died. He chooses to stay sick and the kids go to foster care. Not a bad episode but the formula of make a patient sicker to cure them is getting ridiculous.
In this episode the little sister was played by Cassi Thomson and ends up in foster care.

Grey's Anatomy: From A Whisper to a Scream
Dr. Yang seriously screws Dr. Burke but not in a good freaky red pantie way. Everyone else besides Meredith is all mopey and depressed. Great extra long episode.

ER: Scoop and Run
This was a
Dr. Abby Lockhart centered episode. She is a heroine and inspiration during a bus crash over the cliffs of Chicago??? Dr. Tony Gates and Dr. Neela got it on but I think he only did it to make it clear his live-in girlfriend/friend that their relationship is over, very scummy indeed. Everyone else in the ER was falling in love left and right.
In this episode the foster girl was played by Cassi Thomson coincidently.

General Hospital: 11/??/06

Luke and Laura had their last wedding but I found it interesting that in the backyard where they held the wedding were palm trees. No big deal you say. Well since it is in upstate New York in November I think it is kind of retarded of the director of that episode to show them so many times.

Before I Forget: Reba

Reba: Let's Get Physical/Just Business
One of the last sitcoms on TV is back for it's sixth season and it's damn funny. I was laughing out loud throughout both episodes. The episodes dealt with Barbra Jean Booker Hart (Melissa Peterman) dramatic weight loss.

The scene where she was exercising with her trainer had me rolling. Reba was jealous of her and playing the "straight man" is always funny. Scarlett Pomers is back in the briefest of appearances making slightly odd jokes about getting something to eat. For those who don't know she was sent to an eating disorder clinic for being too thin. Yeah.

Reba and Julia Louis Dreyfus are the funniest people on TV and it's sad they don't get more credit for it. Meanwhile Micheal Richards and others are constantly on TV for being idiots.

Out Damned Box! Out!

While my TV time is being cut in half it's not really for lack of trying. It is lack of watchable programs.

Time to rant.
The sitcoms are almost dead according to network executives since they are too expensive and reality shows are more popular. I hate all reality shows but I occasionally watch the first season. Now people who love these pieces of audio/visual crap also hate real documentaries. A real documentary are those things on PBS that have lots of old nerds talking over real videos and non-CGI special effects. I happen to love Nova, Frontline, This Old House, etc. and think it's a slap in the face to say they need to compare it to Survivor.

Next rant we have "Fall Season Finales" which is just a lazy way to stretch out a season for those who don't understand why shows have repeats.

Then there are "Bonus Content Online". For the Sci-Fi channel it requires 40 minutes and a secret password. For NBC it is posted a day later. Now I want to sit on my couch and relax while my brain goes numb. I don't want to rush to the computer to see 4 extra minutes of boring dialogue that didn't make on the tube.

What do all these things have in common? They are done to bring in people who are not regular TV watchers to catch an episode or two. Watching a season on DVD is not being a real fan because those episodes are not exactly the same as the first run episodes. You can easily tell the comments of fake fans because they complain constantly of whats wrong with the shows they watch instead of just laying back and escaping for an hour or so.

Sure there are certain characters I don't like, The Cheerleader, Dr. Grey, Charlie Sheen, or the bad-wigged-TA(who may be a woman) on Veronica Mars, but I accept them as annoying and focus on the other parts of the show.

It's like reading a book you don't start in the middle and then quit right before the end and call the book stupid, meanwhile your going online to read what others said about the book. You either read the whole book or you don't.

I'm done back to the Star Wars Marathon on Cinemax.

What's New

My head is about to break with all this useless engineering formulas. Trust me when building a bridge no one wants the work submitted in by hand. In real life you use computers and modern measuring equipment.

As for TV...

  • Jericho is the best thing on now.
  • The Cheerleader should die.
  • Don't get arrested around J.J. Abrams.
  • 4 of the 20 shows I watched had Halloween episodes.
  • My cable box has the hiccups and keeps changing to channel 1 on it's own.
  • I understand why Doogie spent more time with his "best" friend then Wanda.

Is This Sad?

I recorded the return of Laura to General Hospital because it was supposed to be a big deal, it wasn't. Either way while I was watching which former Vulcan pops up. That's right Tuvok.
IMG_3047

Tim Russ was playing Dr. Trent Alexis' cancer doctor.

A quick jaunt to IMDB and he has been doing this for a while now as well as appearing in Twenty Good Years on NBC and of course in some Star Trek thing.

IMG_3046

I just wonder is this him moving up or down in the acting world.

There are also rumor of of another soap crossing over into the Marvel universe. Seriously.

Hell I've Been Busy

This semester has been tough not just the classes but the endless reports and projects. So infrequent updates for you!

Back to TV I've seen three new shows:
Jericho a great show about a small town apparently surviving a full nuclear world war.
Men In Trees a good show but in a bad time slot so I couldn't keep watching it so it off my TiVo list.
Heroes horrible first episode but I know it has been "retooled" so I'll keep watching.

Old shows return:
ER had the best premiere.
Grey's Anatomy is great.
Everything else is on tape or TiVo and I'll watch it during the weekend.

I'm looking forward to Dexter a Showtime drama about a serial killer.

Lately I've been annoyed with the state of TV. Mostly dealing with the damned logos on the bottom and news crawl during shows but that is a huge rant for another day. I understand the what really is going on.

To all the regulars I lost everyones blog addresses so that is why I haven't visited anyone so if you want to drop a line go ahead if not sorry.

Niether Gone or Forgotten

On this the 5th year after the attack on America by Muslim terrorist there is more videos of these modern day monsters planning the attacks.

Television captured the horror of the day and I hope the justice against these enemies of freedom will also be televised.Children did die that day but many more lost there center, fathers, mothers and loved ones.

It's anger that fills me today sadness comes later when looking outside the window with a skyline forever changed.

Addiction Recovery

Hello my name is Man and I am a TV addict.

For years I would watch up to 5 shows at the same time now I have a busy life and have only been watching what I actually care about.

Why the change? Easy because of great shows like Surface that only lasted a half season. Also good shows like The 4400 that turned to crap but more important most of this semester classes invovle computer assignments which leaves me little time to watch TV.

So my new policy is just watch returning shows and only a few new ones the others are probably going to cancelled and available for free on YouTube in case I every really want to watch them.

I look forward to watch Jericho on CBS, Men In Trees on ABC and any show I watched last season.

Now for some brief reviews:
House: Meaning
6 weeks after emerging from a medicaly induced coma House is fine and healthy he treats 2 patients, one of which was Claire Kramer better known as Glory/Glorificus from Buffy. Soon though House notices he has some pain and gets himself some pills. I was kind of disappointed that they didn't show his path to recovery or the results of the patients from the season finale.

Stargate SG-1: Memento Mori
Vala gets her memory wiped by a Goa'uld and becomes a waitress. The story center around Vala's trust issues and was nicely done. At the end she officially becomes part of the team.

Stargate Atlantis: McKay & Mrs. Miller
Very cool episode dealing with McKay's personal issues and featuring his sister. Which was played by his Hewitt's(Mckay) REAL LIFE SISTER. That was cool watch it again if you did not know this before and you'll see the brother-sister chemistry between them. We also meet a cooler version of Dr. Mckay from a parallel universe. Also a very touching episode about family and friends. Who knew nerds were so sentimental. I guess thats why it took the almost destruction of 2 universes to bring out the emotions.

Steve Irwin Died In Australia

According to news sources the crocodile hunter Steve Irwin was killed by a sting-ray when swimming off the coast of Australia. His wife has yet to be officially notified. The sting-ray bard is dedly and struck him in the chest.

That is beyond awful, he was so young and had such great energy and love for life. He leaves behind a great wife, two kids and millions of fans as well as a better piece of Earth then when he started.

Windfall: Series Finale

Sad ending everyone is broken up with there true loves and Frankie got kidnapped by either the evil Russians or her psycho dad.

Why now?

As some may see Blogger finally is allowing HTML but now I'm back in college and have little time to figure out there new HTML.

I still haven't got my Google back, I don't know how to Javascript in this new fromat.

School update I've spent $233.00 on two books and I need 3 more.

Rescue Me actual season finale was Tuesday and it was great. Everyone finally told the truth and decided to stay a unit then Tommy got ambushed by the crazy widow and him and her are trapped in a burning building.

Most disturbing scene was with a brother and sister doing the probie.

Summer Season Is Over

Kyle XY: Endgame
Kyle's obviously fake parents claim there so with a DNA test and some photos.
Foss turns about to be a hero who tells Kyle to go with the fake parents if he wants answers. Kyle then has a tarful goodbye with his adopteed family and Declan.
At his new destination he finds a guy whp looks just like him except 20 years older, played by J. Eddie Peck.
At the evil center the unamed bad guys vow to kill Kyle while they stand over a chamber contain a Kyle XX--a girl clone?
IMG_3027
IMG_3026

The 4400: Fifty-Fifty
The big battle between Jordan Collier and Isabelle begins. Except Collier is above these petty things and has a shape-shifter take his place and blow up all the governments new soldiers.
Isabelle survives and is mad. She is about to kill Tom when her dad injects her with the future drug and she is rendered powerless.
Good episode overall with Collier handing out the superhero potions to everyone who wants it which includes Tom's son and Diana's sister.
Then out of no where Tom's wife gets abducted by the future people.

Best episode of the season.

The Dead Zone: The Hunting Party
Silly storyline about a hunting trip an accidental shooting and the Vice-President.

Rescue Me: Hell
A strong but funny epsiode showing Tommy losing more loved ones.

Lucky Louie: Kim Moves Out
Louie fights with his angry wife to the point that they must separate. They realize that their marriage is based on hate and resolve to stick it out because that is their version of happy.

Great show, very funny I hope it gets renewed.

Only Windfall is left on Thursday and that show has no future.

Emmy Voters Hate TV

Start with the a bad decision

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS IN A COMEDY SERIES

Lisa Kudrow (The Comeback)
Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle)
Julia Louis-Dreyfus (The New Adventures of Old Christine)----Winner
Stockard Channing (Out of Practice)
Debra Messing (Will & Grace)

Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) should of won and I was in shock that once again she gets overlooked.

The Emmys hosted by Conan O'Brian was great and finished on time, hell early. His opening skit running through different shows was great especially the House visit.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A COMEDY
Was won by that Megan Mullally (Will and Grace) even though Jamie Pressly (My Name Is Earl) is clearly better.

Then 3 straight shows won that I never watch, Huff, Entourage and West Wing.

The Daily Show won two, Tony Shalhoub-Monk also won.

The great Mariska Hargitay (Law and Order: SVU) won and she told everyone that her baby's name is August, a boy.

OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES-24-Yes
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES-Kiefer Sutherland (24)-Yes
OUTSTANDING COMEDY SERIES-The Office-NO, over Arrested Development is ridiculous.

I hate the award shows mostly because the real actors get overlooked over secret Hollywood agendas. Of the 13 categories I care about 7 were wrongly awarded and six were okay.

Shock and Awe

I WANT MY HTML!!!!
Before the semester starts!!!

Let me keep it short.

Kyle XY getting real good.

Rescue Me is exciting and odd beyond belief. In other words I like it.

Okay 2 books for this semester add up to $182.80 in used condition now I must go back online and hunt for cheap ones with fast delivery. AAAHH I still have 4 more books after these 2.

Season Premiere Time

Prison Break: Manhunt
The seven escapees lost there Plan A(Abruzzi's jet) and must fall back to Scofield's Plan B. Terrence Steadman who was played by John Billingsley is now being played by someone else. Veronica Dononvan finds the alleged dead guy, calls the police and gets a bullet in her brain for her troubles. She is chopped up and disappeared by the government.
William Fichtner credited as Bill Fichtner is the new officer in charge of retrieving the escapees. He is smart and figures out the tattoo is a map but keeps falling short.
I believe there also was a hidden message on the paper swan that the doctor had.
32212243324422131223123133121
There's a plan
to make all
of this right

Treasure Hunters: The Final Three Teams Compete
The Geniuses win, thank goodness. Good show very nice to see all the American historical sites.

I know for a fact that if there is a season 2 it will be more of a physical challenge and fill with whorish-actor-wannabes and models.

Stargates

Stargate Special
A clip show featuring Gary Jones who plays Chief Mst Sgt. Walter Harriman who is wondering will he be in the 200th episode. They show lots of funny clips and previews of the 200th episode.

Stargate SG-1: 200
Just as expected it was a funny take on the Sci-Fi with Willie Garson as Martin Lloyd the alien with a Hollywood agebda. He is pitching the mvie version of Wormhole X-treme and needs approval of the SG-1 team. Everyone has their own take on the script the best being a Farscape joke. Lots of laughs that no doubt is on Youtube and a dozen websites.

The puppet scene went on way to long.

Stargate Atlantis: The Real World
A continuation of last weeks episodes with Dr. Weir under a coma made by replicants. The first half hour has her on Earth trying to save herself from the loony bin as everyone tells her that Atlantis isn't real. O'Neill plays a bad version of himself trying to control her mind.
Very well split and nice to see Earth again. Of course she wins.

Here is a video of the easy to shop way, I took this it on my camera so quality is less then great since TiVo and my PC are not being nice to each other.

There is a slight delay on this channel plus it locks out most of you remote controls other functions to escape you must hit the channel up/down key.

If they make this possible for food and on commercials I'll never leave my home again. Let's pray.

More Fiction Than Fact

The Ron Clark Story
Matthew Perry plays real teacher Ron Clark in this melodrama. The kids are bad because their homes are horrible but the great savior comes and brings some structure and value to their world.
Nice story but complete garbage. The school, P.S. 83 is one of this city's best schools. The parents raised $16,000 for another school before Clark came.
Here is a quote form Clark...

'Five years later, I saw a program about a school in Harlem. It showed these students who although they were intelligent had extremely low test-scores because the school couldn't attract good teachers. And at that moment I had a feeling... it was like a calling. The next day I told my co-teacher, "I'm going to teach in Harlem." '

Seriously I've been to some of the worst public schools in NYC and they were never this bad even in the South Bronx. Don't believe this "NY will kill you" attitude.

Stereotypes are so compelling.

The 4400: The Gospel According to Collier
Jesus Christ Jordan Collier is back and he brought all the old characters out of hiding. J.C. is large and in charge and told Isabelle where to go.
Diana on the other hand is forced into love by Maia's prediction. Maia sees Diana marrying her sisters boyfriend and goes along with it.

Sci-Fi Friday vs. TiVo

Stargate SG-1: Uninvited
Mitchell and the General are bonding at Jacks cabin for some odd reason. While Sam is in charge of Stargate command.
Both the cabin boys and the Stargate teams are getting attacked by mutant monsters. They figure out that transdimensional worms are causing all the mess and find a way to stop them.

Stargate Atlantis: Progeny
The team finds an ideal planet but it's made of Replicants, damn. So they learn the true origins of the Replicators and try to free them of there warped ways but only suceeded in getting them angry.

TiVo
My nice little black PVR has gotten kid friendly. They upgraded to KidZone a feature that filters shows for kids according to age. It is customizable and completely unneccesary for me.They also changed the "Pick Programs To Record" option to "Find Program".

This kid safe crap is getting ridiculous I bought Tivo for a simple recording device not some restictive complicated computer. Yes I know it's optional to use but it still takes up precious space on my TiVo.

Todd Is Kinda Creepy

As The World Turns
Ralph Maschio better known as the Todd from Scrubs has started a 16 episode guest spot on this CBS soap opera. He is playing the brother-in-law of sexual assault victim Maddie Coleman. Is he a bad guy, is he a rapist, is he a good guy. Well we don't know but it's nice to see him after also seeing him last year in Veronica Mars.

Here is his website where he describes his role that he filmed in July.

Fog of Mystery Clearing?

Kyle XY: He Got Game
Kyle becomes a basketball all-star and learns teamwork. He stands by Declan after an injury, Lori stands by her best friend and Dad stands up for his son.

It was a very mushy episode Josh had some great one liners. At the end Kyle has a dream/memory about the professor who got killed and Foss is shown as the killer.

These are the last episodes of the season and we see Kyle has a past and Foss maybe trying to help him.

Blech & Blah

The 4400: The Starzl Mutation
Shawn is forced to get married despite visions of the future that shows Richard as a bad guy.
But the big news was that Jordan Collier came back.
The Starzl Mutation is gene in people that lets them have 4400 babies.

The Dead Zone: Vortex
Cult dumbness. Blah.

M-O-O-N That Spells Moon

Monk: Mr. Monk, Private Eye
Natalie forces Monk to become a real Private Investigator witha n office straight out of 1938. Monk's first case goes from a simple fender bender to a murder.
The captain actually figures this case out and also has a new lady friend.

This looks to be a turning point in the show. They made a big deal about how everyone had moved on and their lives are in change. I'm not sure where they're going but it seems like a step-up.

Three Moons Over Milford: Pilot
An asteroid hits the moon and breaks it in three big pieces and millions of smaller chunks. This all happened off camera. The best part of a disaster show and they don't show it.

The series stars Elizabeth McGovern, Laura Davis is a mom of two. She has a rich husband who has gone missing. The town of Milford reflects the rest of the world where everyone has gone hippie. Realizing that anyone of the million chunks of the moon may kill all life on Earth humanity is doing what they want.
Men are marrying women in dresses, old people are riding motorcycles and all manners of hippie wacky stuff. The focus is on the Davis family the daughter is into wiccan and burns down the school casting a spell. The son is a hot-nerd who is trying to do his adult neighbor lady.

Lots of celebrity guest stars will be appearing in the next few episodes. This show is a better more simple version of Eureka.

I noticed ABC Family has a new tagline.

ABC Family a new kind of Family.

Sci-Fi Friday

Stargate SG-1: Insiders
There are lots of Baals and the potential for ball jokes were high but alas they kept it mostly serious.
All the Baal clones gather at Stargate Command to "help" find an ancient weapon but it is to obvious of a set-up and Baal escapes with some gate addresses from the Stargates files.

Baal is a bit wimpy know he didn't even kill anyone.

Stargate Atlantis: Sateda
This was a Ronon centered episode. He gets recaptured by th Wraith and taken home. We see in flashbacks his sad life before Stargate: Atlantis. He lost everyone and decides to fight alone. Losing he gets help from some friends and realizes he has a new family that will always be there for him.

Luckily this sappy episode began with a shot in the rump to the obnoxiuos Rodney.

Windfall

Windfall: The Myth of More
Zoë is found and killed. Everyone else is sleeping around or least trying to. Aside from that it is going pretty much like a soap opera, a bad one.

Back in real life it's been over 100 for awhile here but it is not that bad. The low humidity makes it liveable.

John Boy's Wiener

Nightmares and Dreamscapes: Autopsy Room Four
Richard Thomas plays a crippled vet who can't love his girl as a man should. He then gets bit by a unknown snake and is pronounced dead. During his slow autopsy he hears and see everything. This includes his incompetent doctors. Luckily another doc realizes the mistake and they wake him up. The only else that proved he was awake was a newly raging boner.

Good episode nice to see Thomas working again on a Stephen King show.

Nightmares and Dreamscapes: You Know They Got a Hell of a Band
This one had Steven Weber playing in his fourth Stephen King show. Him and his wife get lost in the woods and end up in Rock 'n' Roll Heaven with famous dead rockers who are now evil.
In the town a day can last years and they are trapped there for life.

Kyle Nothing Solved

Kyle XY: Blame It On The Rain
I sort of remember that last week they said all our questions would get answered, I must have amnesia.
Kyle has a dream/memory of some guy. He then gets a visit from Declan who is running away from hit and run. It's Lori's birthday and everyone is gathered at the Trager house as a storm goes over and the lights go out.
Kyle guesses one wrong thing about the weather but predicts eveything else. He later gets upset when Josh doesn't stop making fun of him.
Only toward the end do we see the guy in Kyle's dream is a missing professor which leads Mom Trager to contact the police.

Is it me or do Kyle and the mother make a cute couple they are always hugging.

Treasure Hunters: Founding Fathers
Miss USA is out and there is one more episode until the big prize.

Attack of The Show: 7/31/06
Oliva Munn quote of the day: "..as friends...I'll take a picture of me in stir-ups." trying to justify sending pics of her at the gyncologist office getting examined. One was shown and was only of her tanned legs the other was not suitable for TV.

Daytime Dollar Codes-7/31/06

Drugs Are Good

The 4400:The Ballad of Kevin and Tess
The only thing interesting was seeing Summer Glau from Firefly/Serenity. Her and the crazy doctor are using Diana and trying to transform her to a 4400 but she doesn't want to. The Doctor turned into one of the 4400 with no lasting side effects. All of this transforming was done using Promicin injected every day.
Also we find out Promicin is extracted from Isabelle's blood.

I love the fact that all Sci-Fi liquid is always glowing green. I've done many science experiments and projects and only used green glowing liquid once and that was to make a flexible light.

Someone's Connected

I keep losing my cable connection which is dumb because the heat wave just started and I and the rest of New York City have been spending time unplugging stuff just to avoid the 10 day blackout in Queens. When I lose cable I have no TV or internet but since my phone is separate then I always have it, too bad I tend to avoid most calls.

Back to TV.

Stargate SG-1: The Pegasus Project

Richard KindI like when they combine two shows and they did for this episode. The crew of SG-1 visits the crew of Atlantis to rig a blackhole between the Ori supergate.
The problem they are getting surrounded by the Wraith and the Ori which are superior in every way.
But like good renegades they destroyed both enemies and manage to establish a black hole gate.
Very funny episode and the two crews really got along great it wasn't awkward at all.

Stargate Atlantis: Irresistible

Richard Kind guest stars as a man that can make anyone fall for him. Everyone who meets him gradually becomes addicted to him. Except for Shepard who has a cold, yet still is going out on missions. Eventually they isolate the cause of his charming ways and cure the whole village and Atlantis. They return Kind's character to the village for an unkown fate but I wouldn't be surprised to see him again.

Damn it happened again no sevice for twenty minutes.

I couldn't record Monk and it was getting good.

Time Away From TV

I do go out almost every day.
I just watch a lot of TV when I get home.

Here are some nice pics of aHeadstone cemetary I went to. It is the one located across the World Trade Center Site in Lower Manhattan.

A nice pic of a headstone with the death date of September 11, 1796. I know it is just a coincedent but an eerie one.

Here some guy as he takes a leak in this centuries old historic landmark.
And then getting back on the ridiculously hot subway stations I took some pictures of sculptures.Ther little birds made of bronze that look so real.

Okay now I'm tired and must get some rest in front of my Precious TV.

Kyle and Friends

Kyle XY: This Is Not a Test
Kyle goes to school and starts stuff. First we see a teacher give an impossibly hard math problem to his students to solve by the end of the semester for an A.
Now this is a geek fantasy that never happens. Nerds all over the world would love for a techer to do this but it never happens I know I've taken 50 math, science and physics classes in the last three years.
Of course Kyle solves it in less then a few minutes.
He must take a test to enter school but decides to explore the school instead. He meets a geek in the lunchroom, reads the encyclopedia, falls down some steps and beats a bully. After that he finishes the test and gets a mentor in the math teacher.

Meanwhile Lori gets closer to her one night stand and loses all her friends. Josh is stuck in dumb classes and is acting like a dick.

Stalker Thomas Foss sets up cameras in the house and gets a job as a security guard for the neighborhood.

This show gets better every episode and the previews for next week shows Kyle getting some memories back. It's moving pretty fast.

Treasure Hunters: The Man Behind the Mask
The Evil-Fogal are gone. Apparently no one ever watched a movie about buried treasure and maps because it took them a while to do the old fire plus map equal hidden clue trick.

Seriously ABC Family?

Fallen
Aaron Corbett, an orphaned 18 year old, finds out he's a Nephilim. Which is a half human half angel. If that wasn't bad enough he is the redeemer a special Nephilim that can restore fallen angels allowing them to re-enter the other world.
Aaron has cool adopted parents an autistic adopted brother and a spunky dog. He quickly learns the beneifts of being angelic. He can talk in every language including animal. His dog won't shut up after an dog-meets-car accident he learns how to heal. His guide is another fallen angel played by the great Tom Skerritt.
Now the bad part about being a half breed is that other angels are out to kill him and anyone who has contact with him.
There were some amazing battles and Aaron must accept his new life and leave his family.

I thought this was a series but it is a one time movie with a six hour conclusion coming out in the Summer of 2007. There also is some interactive part online , also I can't get the page to open, but I probably won't bother playing.

ABC Family is really spending some big bucks on these fantasy shows that are not quite kid friendly. I like that.
Next up is Three Moons Over Milford which looks like a Picket Fences with a broken moon.

Sci-Fi Better

Stargate SG-1: Morpheus
This was a funny and gripping episode.
The funny came with a overly cheerful Vala trying to pass a psychological test. At first she tries cheating her way through but after feeling as she would fail she quits. This act plus agreeing not to be a spy lands her a job in Stargate Command.
The gripping was with an away mission goes wrong. The team along with some "red shirts" go to a planet were a parasite infects them and gives them a sleeping disease. The red shirts die but the rest of team falls asleep only to be rescued by a second team that went there to cure them. It was nice to see the team completely fail.

Stargate Atlantis: Misbegotten
The crew of Atlantis are happy with a new ship but are feeling some guilt over having to abandon some human-former-Wraith. These former Wraith eventually get there memories back and stage a coup. The crew loses there new ship but manage to blow up the former Wraith, at least that is what they believe,. No bodies could be found.

Monk: Mr. Monk and the Big Game

A very funny episode has Monk investigating a school teachers death. He must help coach a basketball game and gets a whistle. The whole whistle scene in the camp area was hilarious. Imagine someone with OCD given a whistle.
With lots of help from Natalie he solves the case but loses the big game, which ws so perfectly sad.

Psych: Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace
I'll just say there was a brief second when the fake-psychic was explaining how he determined a fake hand-writing. It was much more fascinating then the crappy psychic storyline.
They should drop the psychic bit and just call him an expert.

They did this before on a Steven Weber show called Cursed. Weber was a guy with a gypsey curse to have bad luck, that premise was so dumb it was dropped after the pilot and improved the show that only lasted a few episodes. It was renamed The Weber Show.
