Rescue Me: Series Finale

After waiting almost 2 years for this great tribute to New York City and 9/11 heroes we instead get a typical sitcom ending.

Don't get me wrong it was still funny and well done but nothing that couldn't be shown a year ago. Tommy is living his life and still has his ghosts to keep him company. The last episode was more of a tribute to the show itself.

The theme that firefighters were as mortal as everyone was evident when Tommy is speaking to the new recruits and we see the old timers all battered and bruised standing in the back.

Emmys
Lots of great winners especially Modern Family for best comedy.
Shame that Mad Men won again seeing how I can't seem to get into the show.


Futurama
They should have kept it canceled. They have lost that edge.





Royal Pains, Rescue Me
Both shows have been stretching out their season beyond reason and with weak storylines this is not good.


As The World Turns
Well in a few weeks this longest running soap/TV serial/radio drama will end and they have been wrapping up storylines left and right.
Special guest, memorials for those who have passed, and lots of clips from over 50 years have been sprinkled throughout the final episodes.
I can only hope they end with dignity.

FX

Fox eXtended, Channel #40

Using the unofficial "We can curse after 10pm on basic cable." rule for all it's worth FX has made the most of harsh and gritty shows.

One of last channels I got because Cablevision is slow on adding stations to the current packages. Once the only place for Buffy and X-Files repeats but now has a strong original line-up.

The Shield was the best they had. A cop show that where everyone was a criminal brilliantly done.


Currently Rescue Me is their anchor show. Firemen cope with their daily lives in a post 9-11 New York. This show can have some great single episodes but they usually don't keep up the momentum during the following episode. Still it is a great much watch show. Add to that they've filmed around my neighborhood which makes the show even more real for me.

Morally none of the characters are redeemable. At first glance each character seems very stereotypical but they are written with complex backgrounds and enough compassion to keep your attention.

FX has other original shows and comedies with similar formats but I'm trying to cut back so Rescue Me is all I'm watching on this channel.

The rest of FX's programming day is filled with reruns and good movies.

Off Topic: I think this writing a post a day has backfired. While I'm writing easier I've forgotten my CAD skills. I'm trying to make a copper and brass fixture then using finite element analysis software test it. This is a real broken fixture so I know where it will fail but I forgot how to use the CAD drawing tools. I'm one of those students that the second class is out so is my brain. I have to relearn everything from the beginning and can't do that when I blog often.

Blogging is fun and easy, CAD drawing is boring and difficult.
Blogging pays me about $60.00 a month, CAD drawing would pay about $4,000.00 a month, if I can convert the internship.
Not much of a choice if I want to eat in the future.

Rescue Me returns tonight with a 6 minute episode...


Turns out it was a 4 minute episode with only donut eating madness and the most cursing ever for a four minute show.
Still funny.

At Least 3 Care

Only two mentions of 9/11 on shows that air, not counting news.

On All My Children they had a group in a bar watching the names being read on 9/11 then a moment of silence.

Of course on Rescue Me it was the season finale and they mentioned and showed flashes of that day.

Also MSNBC did a recast of that days live coverage. Great for them at least one network cared.

I don't include other news show( or Oprah) because their angles have been tainted with time.




Okay enough of the depressing here is a laugh....

Nuts

No not that one, which I thought would be a bit controversial.
Jericho was picked and will rerun this summer. It is a great show.

Well old summer shows are back.

• The 4400 was fine.
• The Dead Zone makes sleepy even after they changed the son and killed his dad.
• Rescue Me is great, Shelia is my favorite, Chief Jerry Reilly taking a bullet is messed up.
• John from Cincinnati reminds me of Kyle XY you know mystery guy with no background and lots of unexplained events. I'm hooked.
• Kyle XY is still strong but it should focus more on the family and less on the other stuff.
  

Reality?
I said it before I don't like reality show or game shows but if I do watch it it will be only the first season because after that they're all fake.

Shaq's Big Challenge has Shaq and a bunch of fat social stunted youths trying to lose weight. Of course they have bad parents and one of the girls is 50% fat-50% human, sexy huh?
The worst is Walter a loser-child-boy who plays video games.

Big Medicine is also a new favorite it is a show about those kids I just mentioned in about 12 years. There are 750 people on that show that have bariatric surgery to become thin because self control is too hard.

Big People, Little World is just great mostly because they have a beautiful home that is super messy. That is the place I want to raise kids.

Kathy Griffin gets sadder every episode.

Why now?

As some may see Blogger finally is allowing HTML but now I'm back in college and have little time to figure out there new HTML.

I still haven't got my Google back, I don't know how to Javascript in this new fromat.

School update I've spent $233.00 on two books and I need 3 more.

Rescue Me actual season finale was Tuesday and it was great. Everyone finally told the truth and decided to stay a unit then Tommy got ambushed by the crazy widow and him and her are trapped in a burning building.

Most disturbing scene was with a brother and sister doing the probie.

Eureka, No Gold Struck

Eureka: Pilot
Cartoonish show about a town full of geniuses working for the government. A US Marshall escorts his criminal daughter to her mother when they crash and get caught up in a small town drama. The town of Eureka is kept hidden by the government and the people there work on wacky experiments. There is a guiding dog who helps people.
In this pilot the big threat is time holes popping up everywhere and the Marshall must figure out who is doing and who can stop it.
Of course his lack of smarts comes in handy and he saves the world and gets promoted to new town sheriff.

I doubt I'll watch this show again. It's awful.

Kathy Griffin: Life on the D-list
Kathy is busy whoring herself in Vegas. She also gets silly with her dogs.
But the best part is watching her husband who stole her money and now they're gatting divorced. He has some underlying rage at the "gays" but it could easily be toward her, the cameras and the dogs.

Rescue Me: Satisfaction
Tommy gets some from his ex then from Marisa Tomei and the gets date-raped by Sheila. Honestly this guy has some huge sexual issues all stemming from the death of his kid but being in AA is ruining his chance for real recovery.

Attack of the Show: July 19, 2006
Olivia Munn the new co-host of this show has verbal diarrhea I noticed this a while back. She tells us about her first time, her boyfriend with the small weiner that she dumped and every hole that she allows guys to fill. Not to mention allowing her co-host to remove her bra and dump raw eggs in her mouth.

Today she shared how her Asian mother used to beat her.
I think I need to start posting her quotes because they are hilarious.
Today's quote: "Beat your kids like you're a small Asian woman like my mother."

Nightmarish Shows

Remember tonight on TNT at 9pm EST is the premiere of NIGHTMARES & DREAMSCAPES: FROM THE STORIES OF STEPHEN KING. It is the only show I've been waitng for this humid and sticky TV season.

The book I've been reading Dark Tower VII by Stephen King seems to be getting longer each time I pick it up. This 800+ page densly packed book is good but as some people know King can stretch a fart onto twelve pages.

Also I saw.
Rescue Me: Zombies
Zombies refers to one of the firemen who takes some sleeping pills and has a sleepwalking adventure in the city scaring and offending everyone he meets.
Tommy is stuck in four way love/lust triangle that includes Marisa Tomei.

While I still can't forgive the character Tommy after his "happy-rape" of his soon to be ex-wife you still see how he his haunted by images from his past.

Leary has made comments that he wants the show to end in a massacre , killing off most of the cast. That would be great as long as Tommy goes to because there should be some price to the way he lived his life, at least poetically.

What Else Is On

Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List
Kathy is back from Iraq and is no worse for wear. She Updates her Star weight loss article and loses more then the twelve pound goal.

Then the brats come in, her niece and nephew. Kathy brings in some Laguna Beach loser to impress her niece which does and she clams down for the visit. Her nephew on the other hand can care less about Kathy and insults her and acts his age which irks Kathy. Luckily she doesn't kill them and sends them packing with her parents.

What I learned in this episode...Cake Soup!

• 2 slices of rich German chocolate cake
• 1 package of vanilla ice cream

Blend in mixer until liquid and eat from bowl.

Rescue Me: Chlamydia
After last weeks disturbing happy-rape scene Tommy Gavin fears he has the clap. His psycho sister gets dumped by one of her 5 boyfriends.
Alicia steals Franco's daughter saying that she is trying to help the girls mental stability but Alicia lost a kid so she may just being a psycho.
The two gay firefighters are still fighting with each other.

A much funnier episode but Tommy still looks like scum after that last episode.
