43 Not the Ultimate Answer

43 hours dedicated to watching Kyle XY and the last episode resolves nothing.

By now I assume everyone who cares about the ABC Family tween sci-fi drama has seen the episode. Kyle has an evil half brother and his mom may also be evil. The clone wars have begun. Plus he's in love with two girls, granted if he is a super genius he can find a way to have both. Everyone else well their storylines were just left semi-resolved.


They did it to Surface and will do it to every sci-fi family show. If I had something better to do I would invest my time in something better like reading, oh wait the Dark Tower series ended worse than the Sopranos finale.

Okay then I'll listen to some radio, OH NO they changed my favorite, my default, and the best part of over-the-air music from KROCK to a top 40 crapfest. The same station that changed from Rock to Talk and then back to Rock is know full of the worst Top 40 songs a person will not remember in 5 years.

Kyle XY and others

Kyle XY is back tonight, along with Prison Break.

The Golden Globes was on last night. Does anyone care?
No, good.

Some good news Extras won for best comedy/musical.
David Duchovny won for best actor in a comedy/musical.
Califorincation is a great show despite the name controversy.

Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles: Pilot
It starts a while after Terminator 2 in 1999 and of course John Conner the whiny savior is being hunted by robots from the future. John, his mom, and their pet robot all start causing trouble. They can't find Skynet so they travel to the year 2007 and see each other naked.

The show was actual quite watchable. It went by fast and did not completely suck. It would have been nice to them in the past going through history but that maybe coming in future episodes.
What is known is that in 2011 Skynet wakes up and is cranky.

John from Cincinnati: His Visit: Day Nine
Shaun is back,
Zippy is back,
John is back,
My headache is back and nothing else is resolved.

The entire Yost clan is surfing together even the grandpa if they can keep him from floating away.
This is the last episode of the season and maybe the last episode forever.
Kyle XY: House of Cards
Tom Foss sacrifices himself for Kyle and iy turns out that the precious ring he wanted was not the one that was pawned. Madacorp's CEO still is not the guy pulling all the strings.

Californication: Pilot
Hank Moody is a lecherous divorced dad who gets all the women he wants. He is also a writer who hates the movie made from his book.

The show is pretty basic the try to make the Moody daughter standout but she is still bland in her rebellion. Mia a 16 year old who tricked Hank into sex is a bit interesting.

Memories

Kyle XY: Ghost in the Machine
The kids take a Scooby trip to the XX/XY factory. Of course they quickly get into trouble. The older ones are trapped underground. The two younglings are exploring their emotions.

Kyle discovers he was Zyzyx's CPU and has a whole bunch of secret memories and he also finds a mystery box from Adam. Andy confesses to Josh she has cancer, which was obvious since she was first introduced. It also turns out that Foss is not all bad.

John from Cincinnati: His Visit: Day Eight
Shaun is gone.
John is gone.
Signs are everywhere, answers are nowhere.

Science and Fiction

Kyle XY: What's the Frequency, Kyle?
Another one of those family bonding episodes I enjoy so much. Kyle and Amanda finally kiss, don't worry no sparks or explosions.
We Mr. Trager's father although he was in a coma and died. Coma Trager still manged to send Kyle some ESP pictures that helped reconcile the overly religious man with his "science" son.

I personally don't see a conflict with God and science as the last two Popes agreed that evolution and man's scientific theories are real. Oh well crazy zealots always exist.

Jessi is an unfeeling woman hater. She jumped Lori.

Nova: NOVA|science NOW
This is a spin-off of the great PBS show Nova hosted by Neil deGrasse Tyson of the American Museum of Natural History. Unfortunately this was the last of five episodes I should have blogged about it sooner. Every episode has three or four quick science stories.

This episode talked about the causes of the other five mass extinctions in Earth's history. It was in part due to a great volcano that released CO2 in massive numbers. It is more complicated and not as clear cut but the show does explain it well.

The other segments included creepy robots, the 1918 Flu, and recovering papyrus notes.
The flu segment was particularly well done showing in a cartoon how a virus has certain "keys" to unlock our cells and a second set of keys to leave the cell. Each virus has different keys and the ones for the Bird Flu are kind of limited, while the one for the 1918 Flu worked great. If the Bird Flu would mutate and gain a new set of keys we are doomed.

The papyrus stuff was nice they used cameras and filters to uncover a certain bible passage about Christ that is the oldest ever known.

Wide Angle: Dishing Democracy
Impressed by the Nova episode I watched this show and it was also great. A story about the Arab version of The View. Four women from different backgrounds talking about hot issues. The most interesting woman was the lady who wore the scarf and is a Saudi. She knows that 15 of the 19 terrorist on 9/11 were Saudi and all 19 were well to do(richer than the average man). She hates to see in the news that only the poor are terrorist and wonders if poverty was not the problem could it be religion. Of Course.

In Saudia Arabia women can't vote, leave the house unscarved, and 95% of them don't work. Yet the men are still so angry the blow up things.

Shaq's Big Challenge: The final fitness test
All the kids did okay with the guys doing slightly better than the girls with one good exception.

Chris B. this 11 year old lost 77 pounds and went from round to strong. He made a dramatic change, I believe with his family's help he changed his eating habits from traditional foods to equally tasty healthy food, he is from a Cuban background and his mom learned to cook healthier but with the same Cuban flavor.

"Science is a fluid thing, it's not set in concrete,"
said Charles Haas on a recent news story about a re-identified Titanic passenger.

John From Cincinnati: His Visit, Day Six
More astral projecting from John but not enough to make you dizzy. Palaka nearly dies but the doc saves him. The doc also has problems looming from the hospital and Cissy is trying to help him.

Shaun and Butchie have a heart to heart and end up surfing together with John. No major reveals just the family getting closer.

Kyle XY: Free to be You and Me
Much like John FC this episode was very bonding-mushy. There was dating, dancing, and kissing.

By kissing I mean hot teen girl on girl action. I once thought ABC Family was all about the Puritan-Christian love because they have the 700 Club but from what I understand the 700 Club was forced on them. They are basically Fox for tweens. This episode handle the preachy everyone is equal stuff well.

There was a school dance where only straight couples were allowed so after some PMS issues with Hilary the gang helps Andy form an all-inclusive dance. There was a few incidents but nothing major. The best part again was when Hillary and Lori kissed to make some point that escapes me at the moment.

John From WTF

John From Cincinnati: His Visit Day Five
Wow! Cissy is an incestuous-kid-toucher who gave her son a hand and landed him into a heroin hell.
Yet that wasn't the weirdest thing that happened.

John astral-projected his self all over the place. First to help Cissy not kill herself then to Cass to tale her camera then to finally to Linc and finally a rambling monologue with future and past colliding.

Here's his speech I got from Closed Captioning and Steve Hawks blog:

"If my words are yours, can you hear my Father? Can Bill know my Father, keeping his eye on me? Can I bone Kai and Butchie know my Father instead?

In the-Word-that-hears-my-Father, Cissy shows Butchie something else. In-my-Father's-Word, Cissy shows Butchie in Shaun. In-my-Father's-Word, Tina raises Shaun at lunch. In Cass's-camera, Butchie lays the court out for Barry, and Mister Rollins watches, and he doesn't come on Barry's face. In Cass's-camera, Butchie knows Kai kept the faith. In-my-Father's-Word, the Wave lifts them up.

"In my-Father's-Word, Bill sees how Freddy relaxes. In Cass's-camera, Ramon wants to know who's hungry, in the courtyard and Room Forty-Five.

"In my-Father's-Word-to-come-in-Cass's-camera, Doctor Smith calls Ocean Properties. In Cass's-camera-to-come, my Father stares Not Aleman down, and Freddy sees Bill much-improved.

This is a form of non-linear story telling but since this is HBO and the ratings are not that great I'm worried the story John tried to tell won't fully play out. There are clues of what is to come about characters we don't know yet. But what is with the low booming, bombs, fireworks, or something worse?

Kyle XY: Balancing Act
Kyle must balance his superman training with his new family. He fails at the family stuff but makes up with a new car, sort of.
We are learning more about his handler Tom Foss who killed his family in a drunk driving accident.
Jessi XX's handler gets her therapy with Mrs. Trager.

By the way the sexual tension between Mrs. Trager and Kyle is ridiculous. Don't tell me it is just innocent, it is weird.

John From Cincinnati: His Visit: Day Three
Well John is just a freak like Kyle XY except not as smart, more magic is happening and everyone is seeing it.

Is John the catalyst or is it just a coincident? Either way this strange show is well acted and done well. I hope we get a conclusion before cancellation. Remember Carnivale, Odyssey 5, or Jeremiah they all were weird and good but canceled before the reveal.

Nuts

No not that one, which I thought would be a bit controversial.
Jericho was picked and will rerun this summer. It is a great show.

Well old summer shows are back.

• The 4400 was fine.
• The Dead Zone makes sleepy even after they changed the son and killed his dad.
• Rescue Me is great, Shelia is my favorite, Chief Jerry Reilly taking a bullet is messed up.
• John from Cincinnati reminds me of Kyle XY you know mystery guy with no background and lots of unexplained events. I'm hooked.
• Kyle XY is still strong but it should focus more on the family and less on the other stuff.
  

Reality?
I said it before I don't like reality show or game shows but if I do watch it it will be only the first season because after that they're all fake.

Shaq's Big Challenge has Shaq and a bunch of fat social stunted youths trying to lose weight. Of course they have bad parents and one of the girls is 50% fat-50% human, sexy huh?
The worst is Walter a loser-child-boy who plays video games.

Big Medicine is also a new favorite it is a show about those kids I just mentioned in about 12 years. There are 750 people on that show that have bariatric surgery to become thin because self control is too hard.

Big People, Little World is just great mostly because they have a beautiful home that is super messy. That is the place I want to raise kids.

Kathy Griffin gets sadder every episode.

Kyle XY: The Prophet

Kyle is with his creator which is a man who spent 13 months in the whom, eugenics is fun.

Adam Bailyn, the guy who gave his mom an extra 4 months of bloat, was a unique experiment by Einsteins friends. He then felt sad and lonely so he created an artificial whom to stretch gestation to 16 years.

Feeling bad about all the failed experiments he left the group and was being hunted. He has powers to control his body which allows him to change the electro-magnetic parts of his body to move water and other objects.

Oh yes as I predicted on the last episode there is a girl experiment walking around.

It was a good episode even though they killed Adam before telling Kyle of his bio-parents. He did warn Kyle that the more you use your mind-powers the weaker your body gets.

The episode is called The Prophet because that was what a secret society called Kyle.


Also Fallen is coming back in August.

Rescue Me is exciting and odd beyond belief. In other words I like it.

Okay 2 books for this semester add up to $182.80 in used condition now I must go back online and hunt for cheap ones with fast delivery. AAAHH I still have 4 more books after these 2.

Kyle XY: Memory Serves
Kyle goes to college to research the dead professor and finds a picture of himself in 1985. Althuogh it is not possible he traces the picture to a box of stuff from a missing person and finds a secret location in the wods.
Foss finds himand tells him to back off for his new family's sake. Unfortunately the men inside the secret location saw Kyles face and recognize him.

The show is moving fast.

Fog of Mystery Clearing?

Kyle XY: He Got Game
Kyle becomes a basketball all-star and learns teamwork. He stands by Declan after an injury, Lori stands by her best friend and Dad stands up for his son.

It was a very mushy episode Josh had some great one liners. At the end Kyle has a dream/memory about the professor who got killed and Foss is shown as the killer.

These are the last episodes of the season and we see Kyle has a past and Foss maybe trying to help him.

Kyle Nothing Solved

Kyle XY: Blame It On The Rain
I sort of remember that last week they said all our questions would get answered, I must have amnesia.
Kyle has a dream/memory of some guy. He then gets a visit from Declan who is running away from hit and run. It's Lori's birthday and everyone is gathered at the Trager house as a storm goes over and the lights go out.
Kyle guesses one wrong thing about the weather but predicts eveything else. He later gets upset when Josh doesn't stop making fun of him.
Only toward the end do we see the guy in Kyle's dream is a missing professor which leads Mom Trager to contact the police.

Is it me or do Kyle and the mother make a cute couple they are always hugging.

Treasure Hunters: Founding Fathers
Miss USA is out and there is one more episode until the big prize.

Kyle XY: This Is Not a Test
Kyle goes to school and starts stuff. First we see a teacher give an impossibly hard math problem to his students to solve by the end of the semester for an A.
Now this is a geek fantasy that never happens. Nerds all over the world would love for a techer to do this but it never happens I know I've taken 50 math, science and physics classes in the last three years.
Of course Kyle solves it in less then a few minutes.
He must take a test to enter school but decides to explore the school instead. He meets a geek in the lunchroom, reads the encyclopedia, falls down some steps and beats a bully. After that he finishes the test and gets a mentor in the math teacher.

Meanwhile Lori gets closer to her one night stand and loses all her friends. Josh is stuck in dumb classes and is acting like a dick.

Stalker Thomas Foss sets up cameras in the house and gets a job as a security guard for the neighborhood.

This show gets better every episode and the previews for next week shows Kyle getting some memories back. It's moving pretty fast.

Treasure Hunters: The Man Behind the Mask
The Evil-Fogal are gone. Apparently no one ever watched a movie about buried treasure and maps because it took them a while to do the old fire plus map equal hidden clue trick.

Kyle XY: Diving In
They finally started this show with a disclaimer about mature content. It was rated TV-14 SVU or something like that.

Kyle likes a girl and it shows. He gets an erection and his fake dad must teach him about the birds and the bees but Josh teaches him to be a master of his own domain. Josh pulls out his dirty-nudie mags and tells Kyle how to relieve an erection.

Yes this is on ABC Fanily and it is supposed to be a kid's show, I think. Oh well I find it entertaining.

Kyle's love Amanda finds him weird but still he learns art from her and then has his heart broken when he sees she has a boyfriend.

Meanwhile Lori loses her virginity to her on and off again boyfriend/friend in the bushes. Then is called a slut but her best slutty friend.

If that wasn't enough then young Josh goes skinny dipping with a big breasted girl his own age. He then gets busted but there is no punishment.. but the naked young girl gets wrapped in a towel by some old guy. Which I found strange.

As for Kyle stalker Russ, Thomas is a guy who worked in "The Company" with a secret agenda. He retires but his boss keeps bugging him about a secret Kyle file then Thomas kills his boss.

Treasure Hunter: Teams Face a Dilemma
This one was very physical and that is not good for the Browns. Our favorite fat family gets eliminated far from the next clue.

TV Surfing Gone Bad

I've been watching such crap that I would never watch if I had a night time job or if the networks would start giving goood shows. The only reason I started watching the 3 shows below is because I accidently caught the first episode now I can't stop.

Kyle XY: The Lies That Bind
Kyle learns to lie from his family, at least that's the message I got. We also see a new ability he can leap from buildings in a single bound. The mom starts putting his puzzles together and knows he is somehow invovled in a murder.

Treasure Hunters: The teams seeks messages from the past.
The Brown family is down one man after a torn muscle, damn gravity. All the other teams are doing good but the Geniuses are about to leave one of their own behind because he his horribly out of shape.

Lucky Louie: Control
Louie's wife controls his eating habit and it stresses him until she sees him eat and that gives her worse stress.
Luckily there is no nudity this week.

One thing I noticed about this show is all the prices or money discussed is unrealistic. The show seems like it is stuck in the 1980s the apartment is too cheap and the grocery bills are low. I guess that was the last time Louie CK had to worry about money.

John Doe for kids

Kyle XY: Pilot
This is a kids show for ABC Family which is why I wasn't going to watch it Mondays at 8 or 9 pm. Then ABC gave it it last night on their real network. So I started watching it.

To my surprise it was quite good. They have more adult themed issues then I would've given ABCFamily credit.

Kyle XY wakes up naked in the middle of a forest covered in goo, like John Doe minus the goo. He narrates everything for us and all the experiences he has are new.

By the time he reaches a town he gets arrested and thrown into a juvenile detention center. He learns how to eat and pee and makes enemies. They give him the name John Doe.

A doctor is called in and she takes him into her home for a while despite the fact the teenager is unstable and has no belly button. Nicole Trager the mom falls for the boy quickly, the daughter who is sleeping with her boyfriend and drinking becomes close to him, the son thinks he is an alien and the father doesn't care much for him.

Here is the most uncomfortable part of the show.

All in all it was a good pilot episode as long as they don't make this show too kid safe it may be good. Remeber that is how the ruined Happy Days.

I will add the family gave him the name Kyle.
