While I'm off from my highs of years past it is slowly coming back, but that means nothing of quality.

For instance Prison Break their Silly Scylla storyline is ridiculous.
While Chuck a show I never watched before caught my eye now I'm hooked.

The election wasted most of the time which despite dire warnings will effect nothing, except morale.

Then there's shows like Doctor Who and Lost which spend more time teasing about what is coming then actually being on the air.

While I like talking Doctor Who I'd rather watch new episodes.

The there's canceled shows which have been running at a extremely high rate to do what, replace them with reality TV. THERE IS ONLY ONE AMERICAN IDOL....KELLY CLARKSON. Cancel this staged crap already.

  1. This is a great newspaper article that I caught a few days back that says out of the 600+ hours of TV on over the Xmas period in the UK, 500 hours are repeats!:

Christmas television has more than 500 hours of repeats

More than 500 hours of repeats will be shown by Britain's four main television channels this Christmas, according to schedules released by broadcasters.

Classic episodes of Porridge, Dad's Army and Morecambe & Wise will be shown, along with The Snowman, Creature Comforts, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins.

Almost half of BBC2's output over the two-week period between December 20 and January 2 is made up of repeats or old films.

On the BBC's two main channels, there will be some 270 hours repeated over two weeks, with 120 hours on ITV1 and 140 hours on Channel 4.

One third of the BBC ONE schedule consists of 'previously aired' progammes, despite a commitment by the corporation to minimising repeats on its flagship channel.

Original programming includes special episodes of Doctor Who, The Royle Family and Strictly Come Dancing – all broadcast on Christmas Day on BBC ONE while ITV has Christmas specials of Dancing on Ice and Coronation Street.

The BBC will air several films for the first time including The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on Boxing Day, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest on Christmas Eve.

ITV will show Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban on Christmas Day, and Polar Express and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on Christmas Eve.

It is thought the number of repeats on television could rise as the economic slowdown leads to a loss of advertising revenues, reducing the money available for new programmes.

"While there will be no repeats in peak time on BBC1 on Christmas Day, we are happy to be able to offer viewers the chance to see some of the BBC's best programmes again, and our research shows they really appreciate this."

  2. This line stood out "It is thought the number of repeats on television could rise as the economic slowdown leads to a loss of advertising revenues, reducing the money available for new programmes."

They cancel shows with half the episodes unseen in favor of repeats. That just shows how people who run these stations don't watch it.

I understand it's time to spend with family but it also the only vacation I get for 8 months, I'd like to zombie out in front of TV away from people.

  3. I never pictured you as a Kelly Clarkson fan :-).

I haven't been watching much in the way of TV shows lately. The new shows haven't grabbed my attention and several shows I was watching have lost my attention, like Heroes. Instead, I've been renting movies and reading books.

  4. Clarkson is the only great singer in recent memory plus she can wrote.

I must admit TV makes me sleepy but I wouldn't go as far as reading books I'm not forced to read.
