The Perfect Season

With 3 months off I expect that the next episodes of every show on TV will be brilliant and perfect.

There should be no holes in the story(Prison Break, 24), no weak-ass endings(Sopranos), and no pseudo-cliffhangers(Desperate Housewives, Battlestar Galactica).

Also every character should have an talking scene(Stargate Atlantis).

3 months to make 5 scripts all these shows must be perfect.

Damned writers are back. I was hoping the strike would stretch until may but no chance.

Jericho is back too and kind of boring.

The Grammys were a shame only because Amy W. did not thank Britney, Linsdey, Nicole, or Paris for promting her song for two years. Publicity over talent should be the title of her next song.

I warned before about mixing internet and TV genres, but ABC doesn't listen.

Tonights episode of Lost was ruined with Pop-Up Video style facts sprinkled through out most of the episode.

Enough with the damned interactivity just show the episode, do a voice over if you have to but I don't want to read my favorite shows, this isn't a DVD.

Long Holiday

House: It's a Wonderful Lie

Hell is it Christmas again, oh no the writers strike has forced House to give it's Christmas episode over a month late.

The episode follows the typical House track.

Sci-Fi friday

I'll admit Flash Gordon is better then I first thought or I'm desperate for any TV show with a script.
The show started out like many sci-fi crap with a search for someone lost. Flash looked for his father for a few episodes now he is focused on uniting aliens in a war against Ming the Merciless.

Stargate Atlantis: Harmony
This was the best episode of the half-season which is not saying much. It had a teen queen being escorted through a forest by two Atlantis team members.
It was funny and clever but very predictable. At least it wasn't another talk fest like last weeks quarantine.

I watch Sci-fi to watch aliens, robots, and humans fight not to be preached on how bad the Iraq war is..cough...cough...BATTLESTAR GALACTICA..cough.

Kyle XY is back tonight, along with Prison Break.

The Golden Globes was on last night. Does anyone care?
No, good.

Some good news Extras won for best comedy/musical.
David Duchovny won for best actor in a comedy/musical.
Califorincation is a great show despite the name controversy.

Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles: Pilot
It starts a while after Terminator 2 in 1999 and of course John Conner the whiny savior is being hunted by robots from the future. John, his mom, and their pet robot all start causing trouble. They can't find Skynet so they travel to the year 2007 and see each other naked.

The show was actual quite watchable. It went by fast and did not completely suck. It would have been nice to them in the past going through history but that maybe coming in future episodes.
What is known is that in 2011 Skynet wakes up and is cranky.

2007 Top Ten Best TV Things

1. WGA strike-It gave me plenty of time to do other stuff without having to record late night let's hope it last until May.

2. Journeyman-A cross between Quantum Leap and It's a Wonderful Life that makes TV fun again.

3. John from Cincinnati-The only reason it was not number 1 is that I couldn't figure the plot. This show was what happens when art meets drugs. The acting was the best on TV in years.

4. Heroes- Great story lines that never went too far. It kept pace with the previous season.

5. The Shield-A hard show to watch if you have faith in humanity. It is not realistic but it's damn entertaining.

6. Kyle XY- Like Heroes it kept pace and didn't drift off into super-weird-fantasies despite bringing on the XX.

7. Rescue Me-Sick and funny.

8. Nova-Science is always great but this season they brought out the best a least boring presentations.

9. Californication-Sex sells and that is the entire show, okay there is the depressing main character who you root for even though he gets himself into all his problems.

10. Big Bang Theory-Old fashioned comedy that works great.

Accursed TV

I feel bad for the last post so let's move on.

Over the years I've watched enough network TV to see a lot of things pass that shouldn't. During a 20/20 special about child actress turn porn star, Jamie Foxworthy the showed a clip of her porn and they accidentally left some unblurred images.
Also they use to give late movies on ABC that were terrible and many times weren't blurred during quick nude scenes and they made it on the air, but this was the late 1980s - early 1990s. Now with computers and DVRs most of that is gone.

But there still is live TV and cursing. Yes every live game has some cursing from rude fans but scripted shows should know better. Here are two recent examples I found.

Attack of the Show: Olivia Munn curses and the bleep guy is way off


Next was a local news show WPIX channel 11 in NYC when a liar and criminal on the subway attacked some drunk guy for wishing everyone a Happy Chanukah.

Maybe I'll post something more Christmasy tomorrow.
