Happy New Years

Seriously!

Grey's Anatomy just went from Thanksgiving to Christmas to New Years Day just to advance a storyline in one episode.

Granted the Ghost Whisperer did the same in the season premiere by moving the storyline forward by 5 years.

Best shows on TV:
Glee - has kept the characters well grounded and the singing has been excellent.
Dexter - Great and complicated.
Californication - They brought in Rick Springfield, need I say more.

James Franco is doing a soap?

Stargate Use To Be Good

Stragate SG-1: Collateral Damage
Browder was finally used in an episode and it sucked. Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell has his memory messed with and thinks he killed a chick but really didn't.

Stargate Atlantis: Epiphany
Actually quite a good episode. Sheppard is trapped in a bubble that is moving faster in time then the normal world. He meets some villagers that are besieged by a beast. He helps them gain courage to defeat their fear-beast and they "ascend".

Battlestar Galactica: Resurrection Ship (Part. 2)
The crews of the two battlestars work together to attack the cyclons. The battle was great and the humans win. Eventually when the dust settles it's time for assassnations but both leaders call it off.
Meanwhile Baltar confesses his love to Cylon Model Number Six no. III nd lets her escape. She then finds the admiral and kills her.
Now Adama is admiral and loving it.

Ghost Whisperer: Last Execution
A dead criminal guy is trying to help his daughter. The bad guy is a gallery owner who bought all the criminal's paintings. The daughter fights to clear her dad's name. The secret is that the dad had a contract leaving his daughter with a percentage of all sales his paintings make. He even possess the gallery owner to agree with it.
It was a very violent and disturbing episode. Melinda gets her hair caught in the garbage disposal and has to have it cut. Yet She is still cheerful and happy despite all these ghost trying to kill her and her hubby every week. First they have her in a tight bodice number with "asses in the seat" as they say, then she's bent over the seat taking it from a ghost. For shame.

Freckin' Friday

Ghost Whisperer: Friendly Neighborhood Ghost
The Dead-Americans in Melindas life are getting more powerful and one even stopped the breath of a living man. Melinda seems unphased at being grabbed by strange men. But as usually she is fine and resolves everything. On a good note the Asian boy was back and lost the third-eye for ghost, the dead dog was back and her newest pet and the phantom ghost is back watching her.
Nice to see they sewn some holes on the show.

The Book Of Daniel: Temptation and Forgiveness
A priest, his drug selling daughter, his gay son, his adopted Asian son, a dead son, an alcoholic wife, a woman boss and a missing 3.2 million dollars walk in to a bar and pops some pills.
Skip to the punchline...and Jesus walks in and he's the comic relief.
A little bit of light is that Jesus said he used to talk to the priest father but stopped.
The show itself is well shot and acted with lots of New York soap and Oz actors and Neve Campbell's brother as the gay son but the show tries to hard to be edgy.

Stargate SG1: The Fourth Horseman
Still Ben Browder does nothing and the team talks sense to religious fanatics, now that is unrealistic.

Stargate Atlantis: The Hive
More evil queen aliens in a hive collective...hmmm sounds familiar.

Battlestar Galactica: Resurrection Ship
The admiral is a family killing pyscho and they have to kill her but she has killing plans of her own. Nice tense episode. Still the strongest show on the line-up. Nothing gets resolved because everything is on hold while the two Battlestars prepare to attack a Cylon "Resurrection ship" filled with hot blond robot models.

Surface is repeating Mondays at 7pm/ET on Sci-Fi. Not my picture above but seemed right to steal.

Masters Of Horror: Fair Haired Child
A hot geek girl is kidnapped and going to be sacrifced to bring back some couple's son. Well she is sacrificed but the couple is then offered up to bring the hot geek girl back and the two kids live happily ever after.
A good episode overall.

TV Guide: Jan. 2-8

SURFACE IS BACK TONIGHT, EPISODE 11 ON NBC 8P.M./ET.
Same with Arrested Development.

On the cover Without A Trace with stars Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio & Anthony LaPaglia. There is a four page article but since I don't watch the show I can care less.

Good Things To Read Inside:

  • The battle between The Simpsons and Family Guy will continue.
  • David Boreanz doesn't have a TiVo and doesn't want one.
  • Lost was about to be called Nowhere.
  • Scrubs behind the scenes.
  • Edward James Olmos want sthe last episode of Battlestar Galactica to have them land on Earth and then Prez. Bush nuke the "aliens".
  • David Conrad of Ghost Whisperer doesn't buy the premise of his show.

Playing Catch Up On What's Left

That 70's Show: Fun It
Donna is getting over being dumped by Eric and starts acting reckless. The gang steals a fast-food clown and then break it trying to return it. Without Kutcher or Grace this show just isn't as funny.

Alias: The Horizon
I stopped watching this but now during the final season I'm watching again. By the way there was no way they could've hidden Garner's pregnancy.
Vaughn is back in memories and dreams but big bad mama, played by Lena Olin is back for real. Mama abducted the daughter and plans to take the grandbaby.

Joey: Joey and the Tijuana Trip/Joey and the Christmas Party
A hour long episode both halves dedicated to Christmas. The first has Joey and his guy pals going to Mexico and getting drunk and married. Joey and Zach marry but it's not legal but Alex has fun with it for a while.
The second one has Alex whining about Joey until he realizes he loves her and during a classic Friends moment goes to tell her and sees her kisses someone else. Alex is so hot but since she's smart and on occassion wears glasses she is written as a big fat loser. Yeah typical sitcom crap.

Ghost Whisperer: Undead Comic
A dead comic haunts the stage and all ends well when Melinda gets involved. The story was boring and I fell asleep but I TiVoed it and saw the end again which was the best part.
After the happy ending Melinda sees the laughing ghost agian and then next to him was a ghost with no face and all black trench coat that said in a creepy voice, "I have business with you." and then both of them laugh and float away.
They are building to some sort of endgame but with such weak episodes it may not be enough to to keep me watching.
Another neat thing were all the dead comics who are semi-famous including Reginald Vel Johnson from Die Hard and Family Matters.

Masters Of Horror: Cigarette Burns
This one is by John Carpenter and involves a evil movie.
A film that has been lost for years is sought by a collector. The history of this film, Le Fin Absolut du Monde, is mired with death and violence.
The film is about some evil people who have a real angel and film it being dewinged and tortured. The spilled blood of the angel transfers beyond the film and reflects all the sins of the watcher making them act upon them.
Mentally creepy and very violent, lots of upclose death.

This Is Christmas Cheer

The Dead Zone: A Very Dead Zone Christmas
Johnny Smith helps a Santa with amnesia find his stolen bag. The kids who stole the bag are homeless and need help. Johnny's girlfriend is also a psychic and sees ghost who helps the little boys.
It was a cute episode that worked out nicely, the boys find their father and Santa turns out to be an actor best of all the dinner wasn't burned.

Monk: Mr. Monk and the Secret Santa
Monk solves a murder for Christmas, not especially moving. This show lost it's spark.

Ghost Whisperer: Shadow Boxer
A mom protects her family who is breaking apart. Not a Christmas episode I think they're in summer over there. I'm trying but the sweetness of this show is a bit too much.

Masters of Horror: The Deer Woman
After a real bad one two weeks ago and a great political one last week this one by John Landis was just OK.
John Landis the genius behind An American Werewolf In London tells a tale of a half deer half woman killer. There is no reason given for deer woman's murderous ways or resolution at the end.
The cool part was when the officer tried to explain that these things happen, "Remember in 1981 when a new species of wolf killed all those people in London."
Yeah and not Christmas related in any way.

Weekend Updates

Starting with those free TiVo exclusive downloads. I got the first two Cnet downloads straight to TiVo called Tech Tips and Reviews. They are just a review of products like digital cameras and mp3 players with a couple of simple tips. They are usually less then 15 minutes and more or less useless. Just go to Cnet.com to get a more in depth review. Next was the TiVo Video Down Load Trial of Red trousers: The Life of the Hong Kong Stuntmen. My word that was the most boring documentary of stuntmen I ever had to fast forward through. Unless they improve the quality of the downloads it’s best to stay away.

Grey’s Anatomy: Much Too Much
Everyone is sexing each other except for Dr. “Izzie” and Dr. Karev. Dr. Karev can’t perform with his better half so he ends up doing a lower nurse who he once shared an STD with.
Meanwhile Dr. Grey’s one night stand ends up standing up all day long. He has a permanent woody that is caused by a tumor but everyone finds out that that Dr. Grey was the one who broke is manhood.

Charmed: Vaya Con Leos
Death has come for Leo and the Charmed ones must freeze Leo and fight a finally ultimate battle to save him on some future episode. A nice emotional episode.

Ghost Whisperer: Ghost Bride
Typical silly episode but one thing did stand out, when Andrea tells Melinda that this ghost seems strong Melinda says, “There is definitely something going on up there, they’re getting stronger.” This is where the show is going. Something has changed in the ghost world and Melinda must be the key or figure out what is happening.

Quick Updates/Mid-Term Madness

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
The last couple of episodes, one was titled 911, had the two main officers in Emmy getting roles. One had Mariska Hargitay leaving her date behind to help a kidnapped girl get rescued somewhere in the Tri-State area only to lose her phone connection and finding her buried alive.
The other has Christopher Meloni once again losing control and breaking the rules to help a friend, we also learn why he is so on edge when he visits a therapist.
This show gets better and better without all that undeserved hype ER is getting, frankly ER is getting worse.

Freddie: Rich Man, Poor Girl
Wow, this show is annoying, Freddie Prinze Jr. star as a chef whose female-family lives with him in an upscale apartment. He is single and dating with his best friend played by Brian Austin Green.
The worst part is the grandmother who refuses to speak English, while I've met people like her I still hate it.
This is not the pilot episode they changed things up and the pilot will be the second episode, thats never a good sign.

Lost: Everbody Hates Hugo
Finally the day after opening the hatch. It was a great episode dealing with Hurley's insecurities. We also see the other survivors of Flight 815 and we meet Rose's husband. There was a cute little dream sequence having Jin speaking English and a milk container that has a picture of Walt on the side under the missing sign.

Ghost Whisperer: Mended Hearts
The show is getting slightly better, today we saw a ghost creepily laughing at her, as if a storyline is building.
The shows main problem is that they don't have continuity, the Asian family from episode 2 is not even mentioned since that one.

Wonderfalls: Totem Mole
They try to explain why Jaye talks to the animals but she never finds out truly. She also gets to talk to a Native-American-Canadian Indian-Ghost/Spirit and we they show us more supernatural stuff.
They will have a marathon on LOGO starting Saturday at 9AM before the series finale next week. Wonderfalls Windfall

Catching Up On TV News

Wonderfalls: Lovesick Ass
A mail order Russian bride and her thirteen year old fiancée. In this damn funny episode the kid is clearly psychotic as he falls for Jaye and tries to kill Eric.
On another note my favorite Wonderfalls fan site is gone www.fan-sites.org/wonderfalls/ dammit.

Wonderfalls: Safety Canary
Jaye and Eric get closer but her history pulls them apart until she overcomes it and then his history shows up and start making out with him.
Mahandra and Aaron get closer and Sharon gets close with her girl as her girl gets it on with someone else.
I was kinda of distracted in this episode because of Kellie Waymire. Waymire played the fired zoo keeper looking for bird and human love. In real life she was an actress of many recent shows including Seinfeld, Six Feet Under, Enterprise and One Life to Live. She had a heart condition and died at the age of 36.
I've seen her for years and just noticed all these "In memory of Kellie Waymire" at the end of certain shows and the movie The Vest. I liked her alot she will be missed. http://www.kelliewaymire.com/
On November 13th, 2003, Kellie Suzanne Waymire tragically and unexpectedly passed away in her home in Venice, California of an undiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia (cardiac arrest), likely related to mitral valve prolapse, a condition she was diagnosed with as a teenager. A private funeral was held on November 23rd in West Milton, Ohio. A public memorial service will be held on December 8th at UCLA in California. The Kellie Waymire Scholarship Fund has been created in her memory at UCSD.
From the Kellie Waymire site.

Numb3rs: Better or Worse
Caught with this episode after seeing the first three of last season. It’s cool I love all the math and algorithms. This episode taught us that car alarms run on the same frequency they just use a pre-determined complex number to identify itself, also a simple set and algorithm randomizes the numbers to further protect thieves from scanning the numbers out of the air.
I really love math shows, I think they should bring Danica McKellar to the show, she a math genius.

Ghost Whisperer: The Crossing
I just want to say they did not follow up on last weeks dead family storyline and the kid in this episode who was dead was named Kenny. Oh my God they killed Kenny on a railroad track.

More Dang Shows

Love Inc: Pilot
This was the show Shannon Doherty was fired from before it began. Holly Robinson Peete plays the boss of a Love Inc. a dating service. The show is nice better than I thought but only if nothing else is on.

Ghost Whisperer: Pilot
I can’t accurately judge this show because the commercial gave away the entire episode, but one thing I found bad was at the end when she sees a family of dead people it looks interesting but when they previewed next weeks episode it was a different storyline. I guess they don’t follow up from week to week. This non-follow-up is a sign of bad writing.

Desperate Housewives: Next
It’s a comedy for women, no biggie.

Grey’s Anatomy: Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head
They continue from last season with all the sex and inter-office pregnancies and disease swapping. They even were doing some procedures from House. This is a drama with some comedy put in.
