Oprah Finally Over

Oprah caused more harm than good in her reign as queen of daytime. With her blame yourself for everything bad that happens and blame God for everything good. This is same garbage that most religious people say when they blame the devil for everything bad and themselves for all that went good.

The bad interviews, the pseudoscience, and the tons of books that promote magic over common sense (The Secret, etc.) are finally going to stop.

The future will hit Oprah hard since everything else Oprah touches turns to rust. The show was had a life of it's own and like a car wreck would always get onlookers.

All of  this does not take away from the fact that she did help many directly and indirectly. Also she made something out of her life but not because it was destined but it is that she is a hard worker who sacrificed.

This woman had  breast removal surgery as she transition into changing genders. During this Oprah showed Chaz's new chest but since she is still genetically a woman this is still a woman's chest. No matter how many labels we place on it Chaz is still a woman and showing her topless should still be against the law unless the show was meant as a medical/educational show, then it is allowed.

It is kind of sad that no one tries to speak about what really is going on. People do not change genders and spend years abusing drugs without some kind of childhood incident. Psst call Dr. Drew.

How To Be Selfish by Oprah

Yes it seems I'm only blogging when I need to rant but here I go.

Oprah had a show today with the former Mrs. Armstrong and others bitching about marriage.

Oprah said was that you must listen for God to tell you that you should not get married.

What really was going on was women who lied about everything when dating a man now are getting scared that they can't continue their lies when married.

Kristin Armstrong, who still uses her ex-husbands last name, rather have a single life then grow-up and take care of her family. She gave a list of important things none of which were kids or family.

Being a selfish brat is fine but don't blame marriage or a man on your greed. As for "God Whispers" Oprah should get a statistics book and see reality.

That leads to last nights What About Brian: Sex, Lies and Videotape.
Deena quits her affair but Dave starts his own. Deanna used the same excuses that Oprah tried to legitimize. She said that she lost herself when she got married to Dave and wanted to experience the newness of being with someone else. Selfish, selfish, selfish.

Brian on the other hand is at the end of Marjorie's selfish quest to have a rich good husband and fun boyfriend.

He fakes being sick after all these stunts. It's more dramatic then just walking off.

Late Week In Review

Damn the immigrants(all non-NYers) in the subway, they spread their diseases and got me sick.
But I'm back and will do a quick run through of last weeks events starting withe best show on TV SURFACE.

Surface: Episode 14
This was a great episode. Rich is having some odd nightmares that make him the bad guy.
Meanwhile the creatures are off the coast of Puerto Rico at the Caribbean Plate digging and cracking through the Earths mantle.
[ Let me drop some science here. One of the deepest trenches in the world is the Puerto Rican trench and it is highly unstable, for years scientist said if a major earthquake ever hit Puerto Rico the entire island could fall into the trench. Also Puerto Rico is part of the United States.]
Rich and Laura set up a trap for Agent Lee and tell him that he is a clone of the original "Lee". Lee doesn't seem to be all clued in so Rich knocks some sense into him, all Leee reveals is that the release of the creatures is not an accident.
Laura leaves Rich to see her kid and gets taken by Lee but not killed. Rich bust into Iderex, a company that Lee deals with. Rich finds canisters containing two of every animal on Earth and a huge facility that is preparing for something big.
Miles sister calls her boyfriend an asshole but it comes out butt wipe. Miles frys the boyfriend during a fight. The police come to get Miles but a mob of parents take him instead. Right before the mob lynches Miles the sheriff informs them a tsunami is heading there way and it already killed 10,000 people in San Jaun, Puerto Rico.
Great episode in everyway. Just one more to go.

TV Guide: Jan. 30-Feb. 5
On the cover Grey's Anatomy and stars Justin Chambers & Katherine Heigl. A four page article talks about their after Superbowl episode. Chambers, Alex on the show, has five kids with his wife Keisha. Heigl is dating singer Josh Kelley.
As usual the subscription copy is slightly different from the on stand issue.

Oprah: Dave Chappelle Interview
What Dave said: I was stressed and getting bad advice.
What Dave meant: The white man is working to destroy me and all other rich black people.
What Oprah said: You sound like at the time you were crazy.
What Oprah meant: You are still crazy and you will be back on my show when you realize there is no conspiracy.

On a side note Ben Stiller and Robin Williams just finished filming scenes of A Night at the Museum in the American Museum of Natural History, unfortunately I could not get pictures of the set. Apparently they are using CGI not puppets to make the animals come to life.

Oprah Deserves Her On Blog

Not because she is great but because she gets away with so much crap.

They repeat the show in the wee hours of the night and I leave it on just to here voices. Usually she has someone who was molested and they go into commercials showing clips of her laughing with some celebrity. Oprah does this constantly, she has a person crying and a scroll underneath about her Jordan interview.

Today during her favorite things show she completely annoyed me by giving away a video iPod, but that wasn't what bothered me. Instead someone added an obviously fake video on top of the iPod. It was an episode of Lost that was clear and perfect, the real iPod Lost video would look half as good. There was no small print saying this was a false image but a tech person can tell, if you've never seen the video iPod you will be disappointed if you purchased the iPod based on this clip. They did the same with the Sony Vaio, no disclaimers of a false image.

Oprah is so powerful she often conducts half of an interview or gets facts wrong with little consequences. I don't care that much because the good she does out weighs her ignorance but that clip was just too funny.
