Bones: The Secret in the Proposal
Bones struggles with her feelings after Booth refuses to marry her for good reasons. While we see Bones softer side the murder of the week is a good reason to bring in Freddy Prinze Jr.. Prinze Jr. plays a CIA agent and former colleague of Booth. Yet all I was thinking is that these two guys made out with Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Sleepy Hollow: Pilot
A promising show about hunting the headless horseman quickly turns into a huge founding father-bible conspiracy show. You can also see there will be a "monster-of-the-week" along with the primary storyline. Luckily more than one person believes that all this supernatural stuff is real as several cops see the headless horseman and his head is secured. I would watch this show again but I will not be TiVoing it. Poor Clancey Brown never made it pass the 10 minute mark.

Under The Dome: Curtains
The dome has got a bad attitude and everyone finally gets all religious. Nothing gets answered but contact with the dome "builders" has begun.

Bones: The Future In The Past
I have to admit I have not all of last season because it is against CBS shows. Apparently last season some genius killer setup Bones and so she ran with the baby. Of course they solve the murder and prove Bones is innocent but it did take three months.

Warehouse 13: Second Chances
The overall storyline of bringing back the bad timeline continues. The show is getting funnier but for secret service agents they are hardly professionals.


Revolution: Pilot
Electricity suddenly stops working and one family knew it was about to happen. 15 years later the world has plunged into chaos with everyone turning into gangs of thugs and pilgrims barely surviving. 

As an engineer I know this is utterly ridiculous. Old New York City, Old Chicago and currently half of the world lives without electricity. Wait not only do they live without an modern appliances but they thrive. Add to that that every scientist and engineer would just make things that didn't need electricity. Wind and water could still turn things and make grain. Clocks work with gears and so can many other things. Light, sound, and wave technology would thrive in the absence of electricity and little in modern life would change.

Famine, plagues, and other disaster would be easily handled and this future could never happen. Katrina was a large event and after a few days of partial lawlessness everything calmed down, 95% of the people did not act like idiots. After 9/11 and the east coast blackout in NYC no one rioted went crazy or anything close to that. I guess people are less like animals than the media portrays.

So back to show. The family that knows too much is being hunted by the new Monroe government and people need to be rescued and answers must be found. Nothing original and the end shows someone using a Dharma like computer. Expect little answer and a quick cancellation if this logic continues to fail.

Bones Spin-off

Bones: Finder
Instead of a normal episode they shoved in a spin-off for a future Fox show maybe called The Locator. Some quirky guy is real good at finding stuff and with his wacky crew they find stuff. Apparently brain damage from some recent war made him a super finder and he fears psychiatric help will make him lose it.

It was so obvious that this was just a promotional episode. Add to that it was dull and poorly written and you have a recipe for quick cancellation.

TiVo Fights For My Attention

First Mayor Bloomberg interrupted my regularly schedule shows to deal with the transit strike, most professors said if a strike happens finals will be canceled. Now if want to go to the city I must hitchhike or take a ten dollar per mile taxi.

Oh well back to TV.

TiVo updated again and they gave me a whole bunch of new options.

But I still watched some TV.

Bones: The Man in the Fallout Shelter
It starts out with Booth dropping off a dead man on December 23 and Bones making everyone work. The dead guy has a killer fungus and everyone is sealed in including the boss.
We see everyone share their family stories and find out Booth has a son. Angela's father is from ZZ Top. Bones does get emotional.
The story surrounded the murder of a white guy who tried to sell his coin collection to go to Paris to marry his pregnant black girlfriend. But a coin buyer decided to kill him instead. When the murder is solved the team tries to get the knowledge to the now old black girlfriend.
They find her and her grandaughter the mother/child died. The old lady is releaved that she wasn't abandoned but the granddaughter wants to go to medical school but can't afford it.
Well what a coincedence the dead man had a 1943 copper penny in his pocket. Bones gives the penny to the granddaughter 'cause it's worth up to $100,000.

As a coin collector it's nice to see a story line about coins. Now is it true. Yes the 1943 copper cent is rare and one sold in New York for $112,500. According to some, there are seventeen 1943 Bronze Cents known (10 from Philadelphia, 6 from San Francisco, and 1 from Denver) not 12 as Bones stated, but that is still debated in real life. But this coin was touched by so many hands that it can't be in good shape, not to mention it laid in the pocket of a corpse for 50 years. It still may be worth close to $100,000 if the auction was right.
Good episode, there was even a Firefly reference.

House: Deception
Well House is not happy and he is pushing the limits. A woman, played by Cynthia Nixon, is admitted to the hospital by House and presents with one disease. Dr. Morrison thinks she's a faker and gets proven right. House thinks the faker has a terminal illness and injects her with rugs to prove himself right.
It turns out she is sick but by a simple grape smelling fungus and almost kills her.
I felt bad for Dr. Foreman because he was doing so good at being in charge but since he didn't stop House he won't keep his position.

Tuesday Shows

Bones: The Girl in the Fridge
Bones is doing her old teacher and he's a jerk. The episode was just okay.
The cool part was David Boreanaz and Leonard Roberts, who playedForrest Gates on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Roberts also appeared on Tru Calling with Eliza Dushku and Smallville with James Marsters.

House: The Mistake
Dr. Chase is going up for a peer review after admitting to a mistake. The episode goes in flashbacks as we see one patient with a failing liver being treated by Dr. Chase and then die. The sick mother, played by former Kate & Allie star Allison Smith, needs a new liver, gets a cancerous one from her brother and dies. Dr. Chase feels bad for not paying close attention to her and lies about being drunk on duty.
The results are a one week suspension for him but Dr. House gets one month of supervision from a doctor. The doctor turns out to be one of his underlings Dr. Foreman the doc most like House.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Storm
Good episode but very complicated just to get to the point. Let me highlight it.
Two girls get run over,
Hurricane Katrina,
a kidnapping,
some light touching,
a vial of anthrax,
a cold scientist,
one nosy reporter,
lying cops,
even bigger lying feds,
a reunion,
Mariska Harigtay being all tough and rule breaking,
and a nosy reporter in prison.

Basically a vial of anthrax is stolen and the government erases any evidence that this incident happens at the expense of some abused girls from New Orleans. Then one cop leaks the story to a reporter who then goes to jail rather then reveal his source.

Quote of the Week: "Who do we call when we get raped?"- said by Ice-T when returning to the precient and seeing the feds took all there evidence and research into the kidnapped girls.

Post Turkey Catch-Up

I just learned Pat Morita of Happy Days and Karate Kid fame died at the age of 73 of natural causes. He was so cool and funny.
Morita was one of first Asian actors I can recall playing in comedies and dramas with out being a stereotype he did about 100 movies and just about the same amount ofTV appearances . I liked his character on The Hughleys he played a racist neighbor.

On to the shows I’ve caught up with this past Thanksgiving.

Bones: A Man on Death Row
Bones applies for a concealed gun permit and gets denied. The agents tries to save a man on death row but only find out he’s really, really guilty and he now will stay alive just to answer for more crimes.

My Name Is Earl: Cost My Dad the Election
Nice use of a bunch of amputees. Earl’s dad once ran for mayor and Earl ruined it. Now Earl is trying to make it up but ends up costing him the election again. But the dad, Beau Bridges, sees he is trying to do good and bails him out again.

House: Hunting
House stole his ex-wife’s therapy records with a cool file cabinet opening trick and finds out she’s sexless. He tries to use this to prove she still loves him and starts moving close to her. She finds out and tells him to go to hell because now she really hates him.
At the hospital an irresponsible gay guy has AIDS and coughs up some blood on the young female doctor’s eyes and mouth. She freaks out takes some drugs and sleeps with her Australian colleague.
There was also a sick rat that becomes House’s new pet. Odd but great episode.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Rockabye
Just like a recent case in the headlines a pair of religious home schooled kids run away and does the wrong thing. These two kids try to legally get an abortion but with so many religious freaks around the country the get blocked and manipulated at every turn. Eventually the girl decides to knock the baby out of her body with her boyfriends help.
Another all-star cast with great performances.

NightLine
The last one with Ted Koppel featured a piece about the Tuesday with Morrie guys. But the best part was at the end when Koppel tells the audience to support the new Nightline people because if they don’t then ABC “will just replace this show with some comedy” that was such a great dis to Jimmy Kimmel, rightfully so but still funny.

I only saw parts of the parade on TV, I got live balloon picture the day before so no big deal. Saw enough to see the accident. And both football games sucked. I will not shop on black Friday.

Tuesday Shows

Bones: Man In The Wall
During a ridiculous fight in a club Bones discovers a mummified DJ and must find out what happened. During one creepy stomach turning scene Bones strips the flesh off of the dead mans hand and wears it as a glove to get fingerprints. To counter this scene we later see a plaster cast made by the boy at age 5 to give him more of a soul.
Of course the killer is found at the end but we see how insensitive Bones really is.

House: Spin
After last week’s great but depressing episode we get more cheery in this one. Sela Ward is back and House gets all jealous and snippy with her recovering husband. I fell asleep through a part of it but woke up in time to see the team cure their patient.
Oh for those Tom Lenk fans he was in this episode as a guy who got chronic diarrhea from chewing too much sugarless gum.

Law & Order: SVU: Starved
Dean Cain played a manipulative rapist with a wussy wife. This episode was filled with stars from dead TV shows, some of them are Who’s The Boss, Six Feet Under, Lois & Clark, and Grace Under Fire. Nice to see actors don’t die they just go to Law & Order. Back to the story line at the end the wussy wife dies and the rapist is going to go free and get millions from her insurance.

My Name Is Earl: Joy’s Wedding
Funny episode. Joy is getting married, white trash style, and Earl shows up drunk and ruins it. He tries to make it up to her and ends up sleeping with her. Now he has to make it up to Darnell. After a quick pep talk Earl shows Darnell that Joy is a skank but one that is in love with Darnell. The wedding was cool but the music was great. Just Bust A Move.

I will watch Gilmore Girls and Supernatural later.

Tuesdays Shows

Bones was O.K.

Gilmore Girls was better and Alexis Bleidel finally spoke her native spanish, she's Mexican.

Supernatural was fine, but the dead girls tombstone said Jan. 24 1984-Nov. 02 2005, hmmm.... she died in the future.

Law & Order: SVU :Demons
Meloni's character gets even creepier then last year, also Robert Patrick was great.

House was the best.
In "Autopsy" a 9 year-old dying girl gives everyone a little hope. Just like the Mad TV sketch the find something wrong with her that they fixed but something else is wrong so they must kill her to save.
The fact that the Australian guy kisses the little girl was enough to hold my scattered mind.
Also they gave the girl some tickets to the American Museum of Natural History which I also have was kinda cool.

My Name Is Earl: Pilot
A loser must change his life to get good things in life. Not bad Jaime Pressly was better then expected she stole the show and I like Earl's laid back attitude.

Tuesday Quick Reviews

Bones: Pilot
The half Chinese half Irish girl on the show is brash and outgoing, she flashes in the first scene of the show. There is history between the David Boreanaz as Booth and Emily Deschanel as Brennan, she is pop-culture clueless and he has a heart of gold.
There was an obligatory Scully & Mulder reference, also Brennan was orphaned at 15 with no clue of what happened to her parents.
Good chemistry but the show is missing something….Buffy, although Brennan is tough.

Supernatural: Pilot
Two brothers and a father lose their mother to a mysterious force. They hunt for a living but we don’t see any of the training and monster categories they explored through out the years.
Skip to present day and dad is missing, big brother is back and little bro is in college and in love. They go to find daddy and find a ghost instead, which they bust. When little bro comes back home his love is stuck on the ceiling dying like his mother did.
Obviously it’s the little bro that this thing is after because when he was a baby the thing was at his crib. The show ran 4-7 minutes long and taught us about good pentagrams and white women.
There was an obligatory Scully & Mulder reference.


Gilmore Girls: New and Improved Lorelai
Lorelai is getting married to Luke and still not talking to her daughter. Rory has to do 300 hours of community service after her arrest last season.
This show has the best pop-culture reference, no Scully & Mulder but one great Christopher Atkins and one funny Benson.
By the way I usually don’t judge people by looks but Alexis Bledel has the best ass on current TV since Jenna Von Oy. Lauren Graham and Liza Weil are also hot.

Yes, I know what your thinking, “try to justify watching this show by calling the chick hot”, yeah well it’s still true.

House: Acceptance
The best of all of the Tuesdays show had LL Cool J was a death row inmate who is dying. House is trying to save him and we see all the graphic details.
Dr. Cameron was being a big wuss when trying to tell her patient some real bad news, we find out that she married her husband because he was dying and she didn’t want to leave him alone.
