Currently Watching: July 2009

Meteor - NBC mini-series about an Earth killing asteroid where everyone is horrible, even Marla Sokoloff's character who is the hero of the story turns to a killer, justifiably of course. A complete opposite of the ABC kiler asteriod mini-series Impact where everyone helped each other.

Tonight's conclusion should determine if Earth is worth saving, I'd vote no but Sokoloff is the only thing worth saving.

True Blood - Vampire, shape shifters, religious nuts, mind readers, and something ancient lurking in the deep south. My Buffy withdrawal has been quenched.

Weeds - Never saw the first season and still love these episodes. Funny show.

Nurse Jackie - Edie Falco is a great actress but I still can't feel for Jackie.

Royal Pains - Still funny, it is like MacGyver got a medical degree.

Movies
Eagle Eye -Shia LaBeouf being himself while recreating Enemy of the State by Wil Smith.
Made of Honor - Funny romantic comedy, no surprises.
Immortal - A mixture of 98% CGI and 2% real actors where humans, aliens, and Gods mess with each other in the future. Freaky, would be great if it weren't for all the bad graphics.
Margot at the Wedding - A truly evil sister comes to a wedding and spreads her evil.
Pineapple Express - Action adventure pot comedy. Dumb, not a judgment but the category.
Naked Fear - Joe Montegna must of desperately needed a paycheck.
El Cuerno de la Abundancia - Cuban families try to inherit a large fortune, chaos ensues.

Walter Cronkite before my time but a gold standard of news anchors.
Frank McCourt brilliant writer and former NYC school teacher.

TV Depression 101

Impact: An ABC Mini-Series
This was basically a television version of Armageddon. An impact on the moon causes a change in it's orbit and the Earth is doomed. That is until a brave group of not-astronauts must journey to the move and save the Earth.

The best part of the mini-series was the kid actors, they kept losing people they loved and kept crying. The science may be a bit iffy and the effects are all CGI but the sentiment was good.

Life after People; Prehistoric New York; Prehistoric Disasters
Apparently we are doomed, we were doomed, and we'll always be doomed.

Gardens of the Night
A very uncomfortable but well done movie about the worst society has to offer. Leslie, 8 years old, is kidnapped and used horribly for years. There is no happy ending but compared to what happens in real life it is a much brighter future.

Samurai Clone

Samurai Girl: Episodes 1 -6

Based on a bookish type thing.

So I'm not good with people and there maybe some errors in the characters names but the picture will be clear.

Asian-Buffy is destined for greatness but doesn't know it. She survives her wedding and meets up with blond-Willow and blond-Xander. Blond-Xander has a crush on her but can't say it.

After some bonding moments Asian-Buffy finds her one true love ninja-Angel, he has a dark and evil past but know fights on the side of good to redeem his sins.

Soon her brother's-British-Watcher comes to guide the newly formed gang. The travel and fight together until ninja-Angel meets some tragic end, then comes back to life. Ninja-Angel's ex-girlfriend evil-Blond-Cordelia shows up and causes trouble.

Asian-Buffy never realizes her true power and ninja-Angel goes and spin-offs around the world. Meanwhile her true enemy Asian-Spike comes back and they face-off. Fade to black.

This show reminded me of another, if I find out I'll be sure to post it.
